Dear Community Partners,
It was last Spring when the Anglican Healing Fund for Japanese Canadians was first presented by the National Association of Japanese Canadians and the Japanese Canadian Working Group. At that time we had just received a commitment from the Anglican Church of Canada for $610,000 in funds to support the healing efforts requested by community members and the commitment of the Church to hire a Facilitator / Project Manager.
Today we reach out to you and announce that the Healing Fund is now operating and a Facilitator / Project Manager has been hired.
We are inviting everyone back for an online national outreach and information meeting to be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at 11am PT / 12pm MT / 1pm CT / 2pm ET. Registration in advance is required to attend this meeting.

Updates
In January, 2022, Peter Tatsuo Wallace was hired by the National Association of Japanese Canadians (NAJC) to facilitate and manage the Healing Fund project. He is available to answer any questions about the Healing Fund programs at anglicanhealingfund@najc.ca. More information about myself and the Healing Fund team can be found on our website at www.anglicanhealingfundforjapanesecanadians.com.
In April, 2022 the NAJC, Anglican Church, and Healing Fund project office finalized the administrative framework that will allow us to move forward with this project. The Healing Fund project office will now put funding made available from the Anglican Church to work towards supporting survivors of Mr. Nakayama's abuse and their families with counselling support, community education, and education grants.

If you have been affected by Mr. Nakayama's abuse please visit our website, and complete our community feedback form. The feedback form will inform us on the amount of community need and interest there is among survivor families for counselling support, education grants and community healing initiatives. We have a Frequently Asked Questions page on our website but you can always contact the Healing Fund with questions.
